Here is the situation. Wenda has a bwilson account, but I changed something somewhere so bwilson is in /etc/passwd but does not show up in "Users & Groups" in the WUI. I am going to make a copy of everything then do a factory reset. I'd prefer to replace the whole box with a Real Computer but not today. It costs money. Still and all, the drives are now over 4 years old. But hey! They keep working. I wish they did not have moving parts though.

Printing

Brother HL-L2320D laser printer is on a USB port and shows up as "usbprinter1". I did not have to do anything at all here other than plug it in.

Windows

The way to get printing working on Windows was to install Synology Assistant and then let it locate Wenda and the printer. I downloaded and installed the Brother drivers first.

Mac

Finds it over Bonjour. Select the printer driver manually.

Linux Mint

I don't remember doing anything special, it just showed up when I looked for printers. Probably Bonjour.

Set up

DDNS

To add Cloudflare as a DDNS provider, see https://github.com/mrikirill/SynologyDDNSCloudflareMultidomain

Wenda Control Panel->External Access->DDNS will feed the IP address directly into the Cloudflare database, so that external lookups will resolve to our home IP address.

The ERX router has to forward traffic for ports 5000,5001,6690 to Wenda.

Let's Encrypt

Control Panel -> Security -> Certificate

The only way I could see to make this work is via HTTP-01 which means port 80 needs to be open and point to Wenda

DNS-01 won't work because I use my own domain name, not wildsong.synology.me
