Came after my venerable and worthy Garmin EMap and before the Garmin GPSMAP 62SC Sold on eBay, June 2015, so it could have more adventures.
USB connection
The eMap has a serial port, very simple to use.
The eTrex has a USB port. To use it on Ubuntu I had to remove the standard Ubuntu package for gpsbabel and build a new version from source to get the USB support. I am currently using version 1.3.5
