Generally though I find that the routing and navigation software on the [[Garmin ETrex Vista HCX]] is quite good in the car when I really just need to get somewhere.

Spring 2009 I got one of these with the StreetAtlas 2009 software in a $50 bundle.

I think that was less than I paid for StreetAtlas 2008.

I mistakenly thought I would be able to use the street data with my DeLorme PN40.

As the street level data appears far more accurate than the Topo 7 data, I was disappointed to find that I cannot transfer SA data into the PN40.

So now I have another toy (the LT40) to play with on road trips when I have hauled along the laptop.

I "need" a nice new netbook for use in my very small car with my GPS receivers. I am currently eying the HP 2140 but I am waiting to see what they roll out in April/May -- a new model is due.
