I think I will name this bike "Moss". Nope. She is Olive.

Initial component specs October 2021, updated on completion May 2023

• Soma Wolverine "B" Moss Green 56CM -- finally back in stock February 2022
• Soma Wolverine unicrown fork, also green
• Deda 215 drop bars with a 26mm center, so I had to buy 26->31.8 shims for the stem and the shifter. Got these used in a shop in Sebastopol.
• Interloc Racing Design 1-1/8" headset (accidentally ordered 3 and returned 2. :-) Sheesh.
• Dimension stem 80mm x 83/97 degree 31.8mm (that's 1 1/4") (Universal calls it 83/97, the box called it 7 degree.)
• Problem Solvers Locking Headset spacer and a bunch of black anodized spacers. I like bars high.
• Rohloff 500/14 Speedhub (32 hole) with Co-motion shifter
• DT Swiss 350 front hub (32 hole) 15mm through axle centerlock disc
• Velocity Quill rims 32 hole black 700C, ERD 589
• DT Swiss Competition 2.0 double butted spokes on the back 263 mm on both sides.
• DT Swiss 12mm nipples
• I ended up having Universal build the front wheel because I bought the wrong spokes. First I tried 288/286 then I tried 286/284. Stupid DT calculator. Grrr.
• Shimano Alfine single crankset / integrated external bearing bottom bracket with Gates 50T chainring
• Magura MT-8 Pro Carbon hydraulic disc brakes - these end up on J's Civia Parkway, wow what a great upgrade!
• TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes, sadly there are no Magura brakes for drop bars and I want drops.
• Magura Storm 160mm rotors, front and rear
• Gates CDX sprocket stainless steel 19t, after riding up my hill I might want to go bigger on this. I can probably go up a bit without changing the belt size.
• Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt 155t x 1265mm
• Continental Gatorskin black 700x28 tires, these fit too tightly on the Quill rims, and I want some thing a little fatter on this bike.
• For the Quill rims, you want a medium-longish stem on the tube and minimum of 28mm diameter, 28-32 is good.
• Rim tape, I bought about 5 sizes LOL and the best for this rim was Continental "Easy Tape" in the 18mm width.
• Ritchey classic 2 bolt seatpost 27.2mm x 350mm (Someday I should cut it.)
• Thomson seatpost clamp 29.8mm
• Fenders, I think I have a set leftover from the Raleigh Alyeska, but they don't really fit.
• Salsa Gel Cork tape HT2214 They call it "yellow" I call it "lovely orangey goes with Olive, earth tone vibe."
• Rear rack? The Davidson Discovery set up with a small rack and Carradice bag has been great. I have many frames in storage right now. Maybe the Tubus that came on the Longbikes Slipstream?

Dropouts and hangers

The mechanic setting up my crankset reported the derailleur side drop out was bent, probably in shipping. I took this opportunity to order

special Rohloff dropouts from (https://www.paragonmachineworks.com/ Paragon Machine Works). They are beautiful. According to (https://www.mtbr.com/threads/info-on-soma-tange-ird-adjustable-dropouts-analog-juice-b-side-wolverine.962971/ this MTBR link) I can use any (https://www.paragonmachineworks.com/hangers-inserts/inserts.html Paragon Machine Works sliding dropout inserts) with the Soma Interloc/Tange dropouts. This is good information.

The (https://www.paragonmachineworks.com/faqs/adjustable-dropouts.html Paragon website has excellent technical information), the Tange and Interloc sites have nothing. Soma has the specs I needed to start learning and ordering parts.

The ones I got have no derailleur hanger on the right (cleaner look) and a deep dropout on the left that accomodates the Rohloff mounting plate that I had to order from ENGLAND.

water bottles - glass filled fiberglass, 100 for $17 tensile strength 27,000 - these are to fill the extra holes and be impervious to water and very light. 6 in the frame and 6 in the fork

Ti screws can take higher torque, which makes them good for the dropout hangers.

There are no button head screws from McMaster. SS with tensile strength 70,000 would be $11 for 25 screws. Hex head (which I can't use) Ti are $14 each and tensile strength 130,000

Ever had a critical SS screw break off? Hmm I have... Ti is far stronger...
