Summary: this thing does everything I'd want from an outdoor WiFi network component. And it's $83.

Runs Linux; boots FAST.

You can connect to its simple Web interface, which permits direct access to MANY settings. You can use ssh or telnet to get a command shell; there is also a simple command shell access window in the Web interface.

1 watt transmit test mode + 20 power settings from 0 to 24 dBm.

Network modes: bridge or router

Full range of firewall settings

Bandwidth control

QoS

Mesh networking (WDS)

VPN: IPSEC support

DDNS

Management and statistics including SNMP, a built-in traffic grapher, a bandwidth test

Criticisms

Not crazy over the seal on the housing. If it works, great. I live in Oregon and anticipate that condensation will kill these. I will let you know.
