Investigating blogging software
Why not stick with the wiki?
I probably will for my own rough notes here on Wildsong.biz but I need something on http://GEO-CEG.org/
Mostly I want a format that allows me to develop ideas on pages that are not public and then publish them when they are ready to go.
Options
- hosted like "blogger" google again jeez cant get away from them
- roll my own, can you see where this is going
Okay, so it's roll-my-own
My requirements
Workflow management would be great
Database backed? Don't care, text only would be fine
Roles - would be good but not very important
Software
General reference on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog_software Dang! Wordpress is very popular. I think I will give it a try
These are available on Hostmonster making them very easy for me to test. Only it turns out that I tried to install Wordpress and it failed, so I ended up installing it from the download from wordpress.org. It was VERY easy to do manually.
