I suppose you expect to see a complete, functional application here.

How about instead, some random notes.

The idea is this: I want to copy everything required for an ArgGIS project onto a CDROM and have it run there. This means the MXD file, and all the layer files, shapefiles, personal geodatabases, rasters, everything.

Furthermore, I want the MXD file to actually WORK there. No marching through the Properties dialogs changing paths.

It would be REALLY cool if I could design a map, and then burn a CD with a copy of ArcExplorer on it that could actually load up and display the map too but that might be going too far. (???) How about ArcPress + ArcReader? Later for that.

Let's break this thing out into some bite-sized pieces.

First I want a tool that runs from ArcMap and just lists out everything about the currently loaded project.
