I have to abandon keeping Wildsong.biz on Google Mail because over the years it evolved from being just email to being a "suite" of tools that I don't need or want, and then finally became a for-pay only service.

I still like the spam protection and the search features. Maybe I will move elsewhere later but for now I just want to forward mail to new addresses.

  1. Set up email forwarder for wildsong.biz
  2. Set up new gmail accounts
  3. Move devices (phones and tablets) to new address
  4. Move old email to new gmail account.

I think I am going to use my VPS at Tektonic.net as the SMTP server (for now at least) since I already have an account that I have to keep going there.

Exim4 on Debian-- This is a new thing for me, I am a Postfix guy, or I used to be. Ironically the first tutorial I looked at was for ISPconfig, which uses Postfix.

apt remove exim4-base exim4-config exim4-daemon-light
apt install postfix postgrey

DNS settings

SMTP authentication - so I can forward mail from Google (and my own servers). https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/email-client-enable-smtp-authentication

Server: mail.DOMAINNAME
Port: 465 with SSL

Access Bluehost from GMAIL: https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/access-your-email-in-gmail

Filtering - Bluehost has SpamAssassin. They have "SpamExperts" but it's a subscription service
