IKEA Patrull baby monitor
I got one of these at IKEA's clearance area for $4 "AS IS". Kit included one transmitter, one receiver, and two chargers.
After a charge it appears to operate perfectly.
Might try to use it as a bird monitor but it's fall and the birds are pretty quiet here in Astoria right now.
The radios include lithium rechargeable batteries, probably why the AS IS designator - they are 4 years old. Stupidly there is no provision to replace the batteries so out they go into the electronics waste stream, even if they are brand new and unused unless hackers like me buy them.

They operate in the 900 MHz band (that would have been my guess.)
The packaging indicates the "radiation" won't hurt your baby; this is true, since it's very low power RF and not Plutonium!
I could probably replace the batteries if they ever give out, they are probably small cellphone batteries. Or I could bypass them and use DC supplies. Or I could use the chargers and batteries in some other project and ignore the radios. Or I can try tuning my Kenwood to the transmitter frequency.
